I have been modulizing my fishing gear over the last couple years. I have a catch all tray system box that I have bulk stuff in . I have also been simplefying. my gear. I have gone to the point of the only time I use "rod and reels" are when I am targeting catfish or carp, once in a while if I am using rubber worms or in water to deep to reach bottom with a cane pole. The majority of my fishing is done with telescopic bream/crappie/panfish poles

these are my always in the truck sets I can drop them into my daypack as needed buck knife added for size reference

The light kit is a 10 foot collapsable panfish pole hemistats are rejects from work plano round 6 compartment tackle box with hooks, split shot, small bobbers small jigs and a couple foam ants A roll of 6#test tippet material for line for the record the pole was less than $9 shipped from hong kong

The heavy set it a cuban yo-yo reel 30 # test small plano box with 4-1 oz egg sinkers A few 5/0 circle hooks a few 1/0 hooks I prefer circle hooks but have so many medium size catfish hooks I can't justify buying more right now, heavy barrel and 3 way swivels . Turned to face the way you are throwing this thing will spool line out like a bow fishing reel turned side ways it is made to be able to let you use you hand as a drag. Cast it out cut a stick and peg it in the ground drop it over the stick and it will spin around the stick as the fish runs.

These are my all ways with me kits. I have several other set ups but I have everything modular so you can grab and go mix and match to what fish I am targeting

nice kits, Plumberoy! certainly will keep you fed, which is the main deal.

I saw some of those on Ebay recenlty (the poles) for under $10 shipped from Hong Kong.
Was searching for "Tenkara rod" (trying to pick up some extras from Tenkara USA to match my own). I saw a few of these, they just weren't what I was looking for exactly.

If these rods hold up....certainly seems like a steal at those prices. (although I've never held one...let alone fished with one of these) My Tenkara USA Yamame rod has handled hundreds of fish from bluegill to bass to small cats and a drum...I love the thing, use it all the time. Really has given me a lot of joy to my fishing - not to mention the HUGE amount of simplicity!

this rod was bought to try tenkara It will cast but not as well as a tenkara rod (I just got a tenkara rod for my birthday) I have 2 shorter rods from the same place and have caught many fish on all three of the rods . I think it will hold up as well as a tenkara rod if not abused. I use light line and small jigs on them most of the time
