This is my first mod and though it is a little rough around the edges, I like what I learned doing it. If it will remain whole or be reincarnated again as a new SAK remains to be seen, but for now this is my new edc.

I was trying to think of what to name it, I was thinking "Expeditioneer" or "Gentleman's Farmer" but would like your input as well, this is an 84mm model. To my knowledge, which is little, this is one of the first, if not the first alox with a back tool, in this case a corkscrew.

Please let me know what you think and I apologize for the rough condition.

Alright, alright... you know you've got to PM me now to tell me how much you charge to make me one, right?! LOL :dblthumb:

Awesome job there!

What were the donor knives. I would like the awl instead of a corkscrew. Good on ya!

The donor knives were an alox cadet, an old golfer, and the saw was sourced from a member on another forum. I believe the backspring I had would have made the awl sit too low or leave it loose as the one the awl rests on is a slightly different shape.

To be honest, this is not a terribly economical mod, but it does make it very personalized. If/ when I do another mod, I will likely make a farmer with scissors and perhaps the combo tool and something else instead of the standard bottle opener and can opener layer. It'd be nice to mill a slot for some tweezers too, but I only have a small dremel and one small file right now after losing access to the workspace I once had.

wow alox SAk with saw and scissors. find a way to replace the file with the farmer awl and you could sell them by the bucket load.

I think it needs to be called "mine"... I like "Expeditioner" though.

It looks great! I don't see any bad scarring of the scales, it looks like everything fits nice and doesn't hit. Way cool.

I've been thinking on trying that myself, but have to wait until after we get moved in a few months. I want to do something very similar but with a awl on the end. I don't know if a middle-mounted awl can be repositioned tho.

I agree with the idea of a full sized awl, such as one one a Vic Pioneer or Farmer, too but unfortunately this size (84mm) does not have an in-line awl as one of the tools. Now my next planned mod will have an awl, but will likely be a modified Farmer, rather than a Cadet model.
