went to a local gunshow earlier today and came home with this....

had forged by a local maker from 1/4" 1084. traditional peened tang with a walnut handle and copper ferrule. 11 7/8" blade and 16 7/8" overall. bites deep with little effort! can't wait to get it out and give it a proper workout.

Looks like a winner ! Give us a field report soon as you can.

thanks guys. i have owned a BRKT golok in the past, but could never really warm up to it due to the lack of a point. i had considered regrinding the front to look more like this, but sold it instead. when i saw this today, it just "spoke" to me.

any recommendations for a leather sheath maker would be appreciated. the maker is working on a wooden scabbord for it, but not sure if i will like that better than leather.

cheers

Damn! The picture of it on my phone does it no justice. Now that I see it on here I cannot wait to see this beast in person.

I would recommend the guy below. ( Heber Ellsworth ) He makes a lot of HD sheaths for machetes that can be carried vertically or horizonally and his prices are very reasonable. I am pleased with mine. Wildmanh@yahoo.com
