I tried searching for it, and I couldent find any threads like this-so here goes.
With January right around the corner, this is the time to be making new years resolutions.
Post your resolutions for 2012. Thats all there is to it- I will go first.
1. Get out more
2. Spend more money on unnecesary gear:4:
3. Learn to use an axe, and a tomohawk- I dont have them yet, but if i fufill number 2, I will be in good shape
Your turn!

1. Quit Smoking (First child on the way. Promised the wife.)
2. Succeed with a bowdrill
3. Eat and drink healthier (I'm addicted to soft drinks and fried foods)
4. Get better at tree and plant ID

1. More time in the woods.
2. Master more skills.
3. Reduce my amount of "stuff"
4. Reintroduce my son to the outdoors.
5. Have fun in all my experiences.

I don't have any resolutions per se but I do have a to-do list:

1. Finish bushclass basic
2. Make sure my wife has a basic understanding of bushclass basic
3. Identify and char 10 different natural char materials (1/10)
4. Obtain necessary gear that I'm lacking
5. Increase my knowledge of wild edible plants
6. "consider" quitting smoking... again
7. Learn and perform basic tanning and leather crafting (mostly for bags, packs and clothing)
8. Learn more about making clothing
9. Make two or more knives
10. Incorporate more wild edibles into our diet
11. Make a usable bow and some arrows
12. Learn more about construction using raw, natural materials
13. Download every last pdf in the BCUSA archive (j/k)

I could probably go on but I'll spare you of that.

Fire from nothing.. meaning no tools knives or accelerants etc.. go out in the woods and harvest the wood if i do friction fire.. process it with stones or glass etc found on the way in.

1. finish bushclass
2. handrill.
3. Get out just as much as this year (38 nights in 2011)

get rid of my black thumb.... grow at least one plant for an entire year without it dying on me

and ahem..... my dirty little secret..... Quit smokeing.... already cut back to only one or two a day

Preliminary thoughts...

1. Complete Bushclass
2. More productive hours per day
3. Couple of destructive habits, ended
4. More focused time with wife and kids

3. get fire with bow drill
4. get out to the shooting range more often
5. spend more time with family and freinds
6. run everyday (kinda goes with 2)

i need to get a tarp to, and i really need to do a survival day with my buddy, we've planned it out, and whats a press up?

I never cared for New Years and here is my reason, and a positive one i think. 1: You may only live for 75 years, therefore, if yu live by the years, you only ger 75 chances. 2: You have more days than years. Each day the sun rises is a new chance to do something better and make your resolution for that day. Then you can do it the same again the next day, 365 times in one year to the standard 1 time a year. Each day is cause for a resolution i think.

My resloutions are:
Become more people friendly.
Become better at bushcraft.
Be better at work.
Set the bar for others to beat.

1. Finish BushClass
2. Learn to do more with less gear
3. Lose weight
4. Get out more (day hikes, and a handful of overnighters)
5. Work on getting out of debt
