By the time I got the handle half way into the eye it wouldn't come back out! Osage ime has a tendency to crack rather easily when you beat on the end grain and the eye is fairly soft; managed to get it this far. I thought about using like that but considered by oath to safety. So I took a mortise chisel and started a wedge in the style of Leonard Lee.

I tried to get used to the mini helve but always felt cramped up this is the second time I removed the original

The rest are just snapshots for your viewing pleasure(hopefully you'll like it) I have worked on the leuku hilt some making it a bit smaller than last you saw in the leuku thread

mmm those look real nice, is that your regular loadout tool wise?

Thanks.
No not really a reg. loadout. Just working a little far from home so I BOB'd these.

The leuku is still pretty new. Not sure where it fits in the grand scheme. Having heard so much about big knives, realizing I didnt know big knives so got a big one(10"blade). It is definitely a fun toy but has not seen dedicated use.

The mini is a good summer time tool, day hiker, fish killer and nut cracker. With a longer helve it just works better

The knife is a fairly regular companion that I like a lot.

the mini is an awesome tool - if it didn't work for you as it came...
it's really great you found a way to make it work for you!

Hi Solo; my calling the mini a fishkiller, nut cracker, is just my sense of humor. It is a great lil hatchet, an awesome tool. I agree

No people, there is not a gap all around, the eye is chamfered at the top
