Finally got a Schrade I had been looking for. Did a trade with gohammergo and this thing is awesome. I had a 7OT when I was younger... This is a Schrade old timer 6OT pre 2004 production. They were made in the US pre 2004. Now they are overseas. Anyways, here's some pics :D

Congrats on tracking down a knife you wanted. Those are good knives. They don't get the credit they deserve. My dad carried a schrade folder with wood handle and I think it was sturdier than my Buck 110.

Nice score.....I liked them better than the Buck 110's. Without that big heavy rear bolster, they just felt more balanced to me.

70T

I picked up a Schrade Old Timer 70T last fall at Fleet Farm. It was in a blister pack...On special for $7.99. Thought I hit a gold mine and grabbed it, as they only had two left.

That was before I knew that they went to China. As it was in the package, I couldn't handle it. Once I got it home, it is clearly stamped China on the blade.

Looks well made...but I'm not going to make it a primary blade. It came with a crappy leather sheath...I tossed it in a vehicle for a just in case knife.

For $8, I don't feel like I got ripped off to badly.

Great find, hope your 60T will meet your expectations. My Dad liked Schrades and I have a smaller pre 2004 folder that was his.

Regards, Tom

Always good to see a "real" knife (USA) IMO, get into the hands of of one who knows and appreciates it. Here is a Schrade straight blade I rescued for $2 at a yard sale. And here's the cousin of your blade, a USA made Case. I had to invest $5 for it. Keep finding those oldies but goodies and pass them on here if you don't have room in your stable.

The US Schrades are still an exceptional value. I have a few fixed and one folder - an LB5 which sees regular action in the edc and hiking rotations

Congrats on the knife'

I just recently picked up an NOS Schrade USA Sharpfinger I had been looking for. Nice little knife and much better than the Chinese junk that replaced it.
