My boy and I decide to go camping in the Dragoon Mountains in South East AZ. After checking a few spots we settled on China Camp.

China Camp used to be a gold mine in the early 1900's. It was owned by a Chinese gentleman and a bunch of Americans worked for him (way unusual back then).

We pulled into camp about 1230 and proceeded to set up camp.

Then Horny Toad Got here! We had talked here on the forums and then on the phone. Last minute, he decided to drop in and say hi! It may have been slightly out of his way though!!!

Hornytoad busted out his Jetboil SOL made some coffee. Very Cool stove!!

After Hornytoad left, my boy and I sat around staring at the fire.

Thanks for Watching Guys/Girls

You take really nice photos. Looks like some quality time spent with your boy. The Pics make it look like you took shifts looking at the fire lol!

He looks like he had a great time with you. Nice outing and display of good bush skills. By the way the bread bowl thing seems to be a new theme around here I'm going to have to try it.

Great pics. There is a China Camp here in California as well. It was an old Chinese shrimp-fishing village in the 1880's, now it's part of a state park.

You just had to toss bacon into the mix. :) Great trip and I like the stool.

I LOVE china camp. One of my absolute favorite places to hike. Awesome pics. Looks like yall had lots of fun.

Great camp! Looks like the three of you had a great time. AZ is on the horizon for next year after SWMBO retires. I sticking close to home for now.

Looks great!!

I really like the pics of the fire with the rocks in the background.

great pics... Cochise Stronghold is up that way, isn't it? haven't been there since a trip in 1990... i liked the area well enough, but really missed my rolling hills and greenery... one year was enough... then it was time to move. beautiful scenary. thanks for sharing.

I’m the one not wearing the cool hat.:)

Had a good time and sorry I couldn’t camp out. My wife thought your lean to with the reflector tarp was neat. So I gave her a quick tutorial on the way down the mountain.

Unfortunately I will be buffing a lot of scratches out of the truck. I have to get hot fixing my Jeep.

Also after thinking about it I am not sure if Tom and the other guy from SV ever did a camp out but I know they did some days trips at least, so this may not be the first AZ get together. Either way we need to make sure its not the last.

Thanks for the great pix. Looks like you guys had a good campout, good on you for taking you boy with you. Bacon looks good, now I'm hungry. Thanks for sharing your trip, wish I had been there, too.
