Where do you guys get the small buckles for paracord bracelets and what not? And what size buckles do you use? I was thinking 3/8" or 1/2". Is this right? Is 3/8" to small? Is 1/2' to big? I'm really not sure. I have only made 1 bracelet, and I use a crab claw type clip on it. Let me tell you that thing is almost impossable to put on! I have also seen buckles with a whistle built in, but I could only find them in 1" with my Googlefu. Do they make smaller?

Sorry so many questions, but I have come to rely on you guys for intel.:27:

+1 for amazon far as size 3/8 will work but can be hard to buckle(least on me) I generally use 1/2"

heh just did one for someone and I was wrong I'm currently using 5/8" buckles I bought off amazon, not really sure how they are measured to be honest, cuz measuring across it it's about 3/4" where the male and female mate.

Ditto on bucklerunner.com, I use 5/8 contoured.

I like using steel chain shackles for something super durable. You can pick them up at Home Depot for a buck or two. Sure it's expensive if you're doing a lot of bracelets, but pretty cool for just a couple.

Buckle runner has the stainless steel shackle type... and the whistle buckles... they are nice people to deal with and are from WI...

this site came up when I googled. Seemsok as long as you don't mind using paypal.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

They are a complete SCAM. At best you *MIGHT* get part of your order.

Please google them and check for yourself... call the better business bureau and see how many complaints have been issued and ignored.

OMG - there is truly no worse company you could send money to.

I got a bunch for my son at http://www.campingsurvival.com/sirebu.html -- several sizes and colors.

This company http://na.itwnexus.com/contact-us ,apparently gives free samples if you need just a few buckes. Sorry if cut/paste didn't work out. Otherwise Google itw nexus

click on 'plastic buckles' to see offerings (under their 'search this sight' type 'whistle buckle' to see orange buckle w/ built in whistle).

click 'Contact Us' regarding free samples

If you have a Joann's Fabric and Crafts or Michaels art's & crafts stores near you, they have them there.

Probably not as cheap as eBay/others, but you can buy singles & its instant gratification

I just purchased some Saturday, so the info's current.

BTW / FWIW .... Michaels actually had the complete paracord braclet kit by the registers (looks like new item they are carrying?) .... came in black, OD and Red/white/blue kits.

A little late for my needs, but may save someone else some time/effort

That's pretty much been my experience with them just recently. They do not return phone calls, they do not answer E-mails and it took me over 3 weeks to finally get my order even sent to me. They have a good price on Stainless shackles, but their plastic 1/2 inch buckles are not suitable for paracord projects and I now have 100 of them that I cannot use. I've had better experience buying through Amazon and I buy alot as I am a vendor and sell this stuff.

I wish I had seen this thread before I ordered from the buckle runner. I placed an order and after three weeks had received nothing. I called the number on their website and they had never heard of the company. I re-checked the number and I had dialed the correct number as listed.
