I had very good intentions of capturing the important parts of this entire process with photographs, but I became so engrossed with the leatherworking that I forgot to continue taking photos after a few steps. Nonetheless, I am pretty happy with the outcome.

Thats a pretty cool possibles bag bro

Great job! I can't believe I never thought of using a book to form leather for a pouch. Thanks!

Most definitely a man purse but a pretty kickass one! Where did you learn to do that? I've been interested in learning how to work with leather (to make knife sheaths mainly) and haven't the slightest idea how!

I received a Busse CABS for my birthday in September and decided to make a sheath, as it did not come with one. I watched this video:
Leather Pouch Sheath for a Spyderco Mule (1 hour 30 mins HD) - YouTube
From that tutorial and others on this site, I bought the tools and supplies and made this sheath:

The tools, sheath, and a LOT of leftover shoulder cost roughly the same as the sheath I had been eyeing for the knife, and it turned out so well I was hooked.

That's striking! Clean lines and wet forming around the book was genius!

Looks great!

I just watched that video beginning to end, doesn't seem to hard now! So that sheath you made for the Busse is the first you ever made?

Yup. My experience has been that there are a few skills that are simple but not necessarily easy, such as cutting long clean lines, but the real trick is to plan things out carefully and don't rush it. The hardest part is making myself put it down when I start getting sleepy at night, because I start making mistakes when I push it. You should give it a shot; its a lot of fun.
