So, I was trying to come up with a list of clothing makers/retailers that make quality clothing.

Stuff that's suitable for the bush, or around town; that looks good, and wears hard.

Off the top of my head I came up with:

Carhartt
L.L. Bean
Duluth Trading Company
Filson
Orvis

But I know that I am probably missing dozens of great outfits that I've simply never heard of.

So what are some of your favorites?

I've been happy with Patagonia! Great layering and excellant warrant/customer service!

i was just going to start a thread about the Duluth trading fire hose pants i got for Christmas. these things are absolutely bomb proof. triple stitching, gusseted crotch, reinforced pant cuffs, deep pockets and are very comfortable. the zipper is pretty heavy duty. my wife bought them for me, so i got the regular pants instead of the cargo pocket. at least she listened to what i wanted. i will now only be buying these for work, and ill never be back to dickies again. although they seem to be a little big on their sizes, so they make me feel skinny when i wear them. wish they were a little cheaper. i want the cargo pocket ones badly! if you have never had a guessed crotch on your pants, and you have to kneel and stand all day for work, then you need these my 2 bits are loving these pants. sorry for the long praise, for the money they are quality. oh ya i paid for these also so i don't work for the company or anything.

also Birkenstock sandals. i know they are $125, i know they look like Jesus sandals, i live in south florida and if im not at work you will see me in my birks, ALWAYS! yes i know i can get them re-souled after awhile but i don't have time to wait for my only other pair of foot wear.

Patagonia has been great - the only company that sponsored my old program with pro deals for my staff. Nothing but good things to say about them.

MEC - Canada
REI - USA
Northface - expedition grade gear
US Army gortex - impressive performance so far.

Our own Kevin Kenny of Empire Wool and Canvas Works makes excellent clothing.

I'm sold on Empire Canvas Works' products. I have the boreal shirt and really like it. I'm thinking about their arctic anorak to go with it.

Mountain Hardwear
The North Face
REI
Deluth Trading Co
Columbia
Helly Hansen
Arc'teryx
Marmot

Levi's
Eddie Bauer
Jas Townsend & Son
Bear Grylls clothing line by Crag Hoppers

I'm pretty hardcore Carhart guy...have owned various other similar products Walls comes to mind as one that wore for a long time, back when I wore overalls a lot Pointer Brand and those Liberty ones Wally World sells. Anymore I'm generally in Carhart when I'm not working.

Not tried them but Sportsmans Guide has what I guess is their own line called 'Guide Gear' all kinds of stuff many look like Carhart but way cheaper.( I plan to get some of their pants) I used to buy Dickies when Carhart was harder to find....but their quality went to crap.

LL Bean, Eddier Bauer, and Columbia, far as more 'technical' stuff.

The Guide Gear jeans are not bad...they run a bit small. As far as the other stuff I don't know about that. I wear a Dickies jacket, and insulated bibs. They have given me great service. I have also had good luck with Cabelas, Red Head, and Columbia products.

For the price Wrangler riggs ripstop canvas (not nylon) both carpenter and cargo, are outstanding and great when you're out... standing.
