My mora had a nearly worthless belt hook on the sheath so it was time for a quick mod.

I had seen a few videos on making pvc sheaths and used the general idea of heat to soften the tab enough (~220 degrees) to use the whole thing as a belt loop. Then I just did the typical paracord cobra weave to hold it in place. Added bonus, I have around 5 feet for emergencies.

By the way, without a heat gun I had to get a little creative in my choice of a heat source.

If you try this at home, wrap the part you are heating in aluminum foil first to keep your wife happy!

Im the other way around I guess.

I have 2 moras, one came with a sheath thats closed, and one open. And I like the one thats open more cuz I can slide it on and off easier.

But nice modification!

I think this got the sheath to the point of being usable. Before that, it was shove the whole thing in a pocket. It still rides a little high on a belt, but I can actually put it on a belt. :D

When you say open, do you mean you can slide it over the belt without running the belt through a loop? I would definitely prefer that kind of feature.

I got one with the clip on it to I like the fact I can slip it off specially if I'm out around on my bike and need to stop in a store makes easy to hide in pocket.

Nice mod on it though

That is a nifty mod Red Beard, very slick. I love this kiind of stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I have that same knife and the belt hanger broke off of it. I just trimmed it down and rehung it with a fabric loop.

Forget the heat gun (or hair straightener LOL!).... A couple minutes in boiling water works great, and will never melt the plastic.... ;-)
