REI Tarn 18 Kids Day Pack

It just arrived!! I saw someone post about this pack in another thread so I decided to check it out.

It fits her great. She is 7 (almost 8) and I think it will be adjustable for awhile. If you look carefully in the pic you can see her Canteen and Canteen Cup fits in a back mesh pocket. The mesh pockets on the side are too small. They probably hold 20oz water bottles.

Inside I see it will hold an Emergency Space Blanket, rain poncho, fire kit, and will have some room for other items. Plenty for her in case she ever needs it. I added a bigger whistle (there is a small one built in the strap), a head lamp, and some glow sticks.

Once I get a chance I will lay out the contents for folks here to help me shake out.

My niece just talked me into buying her one of those when we were in REI a few weeks ago. She's only six but she's very tall for her age and I'm hoping we'll be able to go on some short hikes together later this spring. Next on her shopping list is a multi-color titanium spork. lol
