We hit some private property today to get to know each other as this was our first trip together.

He is a Marine so I was instantly comfortable

We started with a fire and Justin did most of the work. He uses IA Woodsman methods to building one

Then we tried a super shelter. We really didn't have the right materials. I went cheap and bought a cheap dollar store ground plastic. I didn't bring enough paracord to proper tie it off

The wind was brutal and the temp was around 20-25

All in all, close to home good company and seeing new ways of doing things

It was a great time. Even though the shelter didn't turn out quite as planned it was a good learning experience never the less!

Tobit & I met up and tried the super shelter. Ours worked although should have been larger. I use jute string to make the frame work, and it held through freezing rain. A big but no wind. I'm leaving it up unused for a few days to see if will stand up to some weather. We used 4 mill plastic, and tarps.
Tobit is a good cook even in the rain. Good times
