you should take a pic - you could just leave it on the counter every once in a while to tease her into doing it again. :)
 
Can you adapt the recipe for baking in a Dutch oven? Maybe, just bring them along ready made to have with a strong cup of cowboy coffee.

The shortbread pan is purchased commercially at a kitchen store. This one happened to be metal, most i've seen are crockery. The pans impart the pattern to the shortbread.

Professor, It shouldn't be a problem to make shortbread in a dutch...oughta translate very well.
