I'm looking at getting a pair of snowshoes in the $100-150 range. I won't be carrying a heavy pack but will be walking through some fairly heavy brush. I'd be grateful for some suggestions, what do you use?

Sorel for me: I have three models, one for hunting, and two pairs of workshoes. You can not be cold with these... More or less 100$ in USA

I think these boots are really under rated . They are cheap by most standards but I've been hunting and camping for a year now and I love these boots . Mine are a little differant then the one picture in that they have a rubber coveing over the toes .
Really warm . Camping in 10 degrees and the only thing warm was my feet .
Oops kinda misread this post . I got my snowshoes for $25 used . Lucky .

I use MSR Lightning Ascents but my snowshoeing is usually alpine conditions where the extra traction they provide is essential.

This thread has reminded me though that I need to get some more basic shoes for lower elevations.

I have heard good things about yukon charlies snowshoes and they are in the $100-$150 price range

Thanks for the answers. I should have done a more thorough search but kinda flaked it because I was at work. I settled on a pair of Faber winter guides. Nice looking hybrid traditional/modern snowshoes. I'll put up some pix and a review when I get enough snow to try 'em out
