Hi, I was trying to find a resonably light weight 2 person winter tent, that can be operated with a small stove inside. Thank you, any input is greatly apreciated
There's no need to purchase a $700 + canvas tent for stoving it. Just about any floor-less designed tent can be converted for use with a stove.
Would it be safe to use a tent that has a floor if you put down a welding blanket under the stove?
A woodburner puts off a surpriseing amount of heat from the bottom . Ive tried to insulate the grass etc from the wood burners up at the lake with metal, brick etc . They always burn the grass out .Would it be safe to use a tent that has a floor if you put down a welding blanket under the stove?

Id think you would have to insulate more then just a welders blanket capabilities . The blanket on the inside of my tent seems to do fine with an air space between it and the canvas but I wouldn't want to trust it with direct contact .

The woodburners Im talking about at the lake are usually 10 to 12 inches above the grass .Do you think it would work out if the stove was on legs that kept it a few inches off the ground?

One thing you might try if you are determined is a piece of reflectix type insulation, the kind they wrap duct work with, and then welders blanket over that .
Hmm... Ok then. If your already a foot above the ground and burning the grass, then I don't think I want to try it with a floor under it.
