I have got big plans for this years refund. Including a bcusa tarp and some maxpedition stuff. Just airing my frustration :) the bcusa tarp will be my first non Polly tarp. Can wait to cash out my cart!

I want to start hunting this year so i plan on buying a bow.I also plan on buying my first high end knife.

getting a kayak and a s & w .22 pistol. i thought i would get my refund today, but it says the 3rd now...i guess the irs only issues refunds on fridays...

Mine is already spent. Took less than a week to go thru what little I got back. Mostly medical bills. I did get a toy for me tho.

They are delayed.

The IRS has opened its filing season successfully this month, and refunds have started going out to many taxpayers. As with the start of any tax season, there are system validations that occur requiring some fine-tuning of our systems. As part of this, some taxpayers will receive refunds approximately one week later than initial projections they may have received, but these are still in line with historical refund delivery times.

IRS STATEMENT

Mine was spent on bills and such but I did manage to snag some stuff at the surplus stores after bills were taken care of. Plus you can not go wrong with old school military surplus.

I am patiently waiting on my returns...I filed them both about 10 days ago...I'm going to be getting a much needed new computer, a little bit of new gear and the rest is going to be what I will live on until I find some kind of part time or home based work since I can't really leave home for a long amount of time. Taking care of the Grandparents is basically a full-time (room and board paid) position as it is and it doesn't pay the student loans off... NYS seems to be taking a long time with their returns too...It's a conspiracy I tell ya! They don't wanna give us back OUR money! lol...j'k

My tax-return "allowance" (...wife...'nuff said...) is going to a new Isle Royale Bag from Frost River...and maybe a Mini Knapsack for the boy...

Got mine today, using it to buffer the paychecks while the fiancee is out of work. I may buy myself something nice though :D

Yeah, my refund got bumped back as well. We caught all out bills up in December, and I am getting those few things and the rest goes into emergency fund.

Hmmm What is this refund thing you speak of? This is the time of year that I pay big bucks to the state and federal government..... I always think of that when the TSA agent takes my Leatherman Micra away from me at the airport.

Refund??? What's that? I must have a bad CPA...

Sounds to me like you have a good one. The point is to break even at the end of the year. If you're getting a refund at the end of the year, you're paying too much in through out the year. Some people like getting a refund check so they can "splurge", I personally like to have let mine work for me during the year.

I only get a refund because the government wants to give me money, the feds keep about $5 from each pay check I had about $100 withheld for the whole year, I plan on getting about $2800 back from the feds. I don't need the money, I didn't earn it, but I'm required to file an income tax statement every year and the government insists on giving me money since I own a home, and I have kids, and I put money in a 401k...

I might buy something, I haven't really decided yet. I think most of it will be put into savings for our summer vacation.

I'm hoping it's a nice one, I've been on medical for a month now, wife is only working once a week, so times are tight. A nice refund will pay the bills till I'm back to work.

Last year the wife let me get a tempur pedic. This year a leather couch for her rest savings

I have a little Henry Youth lever action waiting for me to pay it's adoption fee and bring it home.

Well mine came and spent half went to the mechanic and found out there is more repairs needed. Oh well there goes another couple hundred bucks. I didn't have thank god for the IRA . well before finding that Out I did get myself a wool buff a wool shirt and gloves a Rescue Beacon and a New awning for the pop up camper, Only way I will get the wife and daughter into the woods Bought a used pop up last year to get them outdoors atleast. Now I got to fix a piece of the floor thats rotted out, Hope I didn't take to big of a gamble on that. Good luck getting your return mine was a week late and wasn't a big return either .

My wifes business is being audited right now and so far the govment owes us $400.00. Feels good. Not over yet but we have no worries (as far as the audit goes). Took 15 years of her being in business to get to that point though. We will get s refund but its on stby for now. It'll just go to savings anyway. Long, long time back we cut up credit cards and payed off all debt besides the mortgage. Hard. Hard road getting there but we don't have to live week to week any more. Guess I could say that the refund will go for a spring break trip to New York. Never been myself and gave in to the wife and kids as long as they let me get a tattoo on New York Ink lol. Looking forward to that. With this audit goin on another little business venture I've been planning has been set back also. Probably for the best for now but don't wanna wait too long. This economy not getting better like they claim, I just personally chosen not to participate in the collapse for now:) so I guess I'm sayin I don't have anything bushcrafty planned for this years refund... Huh, just got depressed! Anyone wanna sell me something?,)

I filed on the 30th my est date was the 8th checked it today and its now the 7th I have tons of things Im going to do with it. Only having a job for 5 months and the wife a full time student and a little one Im getting back a good bit that was not nearly expected.

I used to have nothing withheld so o just wrote one check so I would know how much I got robbed, but it was causing major blood pressure issues. So we started just having some withheld....
