Time to stock up-perhaps!

Food Lion announced that it was closing something like 126 stores.

When the Winn Dixie up the street closed, they had increasing 10% sales each week, first week 10% off, then 20 etc until everything was emptied from store.

Although i feel for those who are loosing their job, it looks like a good opportunity to stock up on some discounted items.

There is a Food Lion down the road from me that's on the list. I will watch for sales and see if I can get some beans and such.

No food lions here, but take advantage and stock up on the things people wont normaly buy, beans and dry goods, canned food etc. Have fun shopping.

Its a supermarket chain in the south east. They are usually dirty and poorly stocked and got busted some years ago for "refreshing" the expiration dates on their meats.

Not surprised they are closing shop, just surprised they are still open.

They've usually got a pretty good selection of beer, so im gonna have to check mine out and see if they're putten them on sale

There's a food lion in dover Delaware where I was raised me and the girlfriend will have to go take a look. I don't know if we have one anywhere near me up here.

Thanks for the idea.....they are closing two stores in this area as well and now I'll be on the lookout for items to stock for prepping.

Strangely enough a Target around here is closing and they have everything 50% off. We stocked up somethin' fierce.
