took my 15 year old Nephew camping for a quick overnight Just before New years..
he's done some campground camping with the scouts but this was his first back woods trip
the abundance of coyotes we had chattering around us set hin on edge for a bit but thats SOP here.
My buddy Chris came along just so I had another adult, in case something happened to me, It was cold about 25 deg F, but we all had an awesome time

here are some pics

Later the wind shifted and it started to spit some freezing rain so it through my poncho over the other side to give a little bit more protection

Wouldn;t you know after that it cleared up

no knife pics but for all the knife guys out there

the mvp as usual was my Mora carbon companion
also had a GB axe, camillus bk9
Honestly despite the temperature there was so much downed wood we barely used the axe at all.
my nephew had a Mora clipper and a condor bushcraft 5

Good on you for taking the young man out! Looks like a great outing.

Good on you for taking him out. Thanks for the post. Hope to see more of you around here again.

Thanks IA, I hope to be as well..
Also really my motives are selfish I'm trying to groom me a hand picked bushbuddy, He's a great kid and a fast learner.. so I'm really the lucky one

Looks like a good trip, those are special to the younger ones and the adults. Thanks for posting.

It's awesome to see the look on his face in those pictures. All anyone needs to know is what's written right there. I'll bet he remembers that trip fondly for the rest of his life.
Here's to many more.

Very cool, love the pics of the lake there. I'm a total sucker for reflection shots like that, looks like the clouds are floating in the water.
