Tree and fungus id

The tree is probably obvious and i'll look like an idiot but whatever. I'm new to tree identification but i cant find this one in my book. If there's one thing i have learned about identifying trees, it's that bark is your enemy and leaves are your friend. But there are no leaves.. so here you go

It looks like a sugarberry or hackberry. Same genus, different species. Either way, if the ID is correct, the fruit is edible. Sugarberry is one of those trees the fruit can taste really good or really bad. Seems to depend on location.

I would say Hackberry for sure.

Yeah, definitely hackberry or sugar berry. The worty bark is how I tell.
