my mom recently found a 1966 u.s. knife that belonged to my step father.
the blade is in terrible shape with the typical grinder marks all over the blade.
the tip is also broken and their is a nick in the middle of the blade.
I used my lansky on it and it sharpened but it doesn't look very good.
is there any way to fix it or should I just leave it. can the blade be replaced?

You can use sand paper starting at course grits and working your way to a fine polish 1200grit.

Depending on the damage it could take awhile, Use a flat block so you dont round the blade off.

Beyond that I would just use it like it is.
