Does anyone have one like this ? http://www.mambeblankets.com/
It looks nice but a little pricey. I don't think it would beat a good wool blanket. I would like to try one if I could find a good price.

I checked out the link... wow, for a 3lb 5' X 7' blanket... I would say that is as heavy or heavier than a good wool blanket and that isn't a bad thing. Made in the USA too...

Pretty cool, thanks.

Looks a little pricey. Lots of nylon, don't get too close to the heat. But when compared to a sleeping bag, or if looking to something for the back of the car for multi use purposed looks ok a litte pricy though, saw a qween sized microfleace blanket on clearance the other day for under $20, no not waterproof but usuable.

I saw that one also it is even more expensive. Still I want to give one a try.

Since Fleece is made from plastic it is water repellant. I wouldn't spend extra money on something that claims to be water proof.

Hate to call ya out muddog15 but all the fleece blankets I've owned will hold a ton of water. Opposite of waterproof, they soaked up every drop that got near them. They say fleece stays warm when wet but it sure felt cold to me. Hung it up to dry after wringing it out immediately upon noticing that it was wet so not a fair trail by any means. YMMV

If you have a blanket (or sleeping bag) and a waterproof cover, and a space blanket- do they really need to be sewn together?

As separate pieces they have a broader range of use and utility. Sewn together-good for a picnic on wet ground?

I got this pic nic blanket looks kinda similar to some other stuff on their site, it's a tad bulky in it's full size( I was debating cutting it in half) , it's like heavy poly on one side and fleece on top, we've used it a fair amount and has done fine as a ground sheet more or less....it was a promotional freebie. It is more pleasant than sleeping on a casualty blanket, draws debris though. But so does wool. If ya can find one on the cheap someplace try it. wHAt I got I'm pretty sure is this.... http://www.mambeblankets.com/EssentialOutdoor.aspx. Was a Miller beer promo thing.
