did a winter hike over the weekend at lake hope on the zaleski backpack trail. the trail is a 25 mile loop with 3 primitive campgounds throughout the trail. the forest itself is 27,000 acres. imho zaleski has the best hiking trails in the state. i also stopped at moonville tunnel, there is alot of history surrounding this area, and the tunnel is allegedly haunted. check out the link provided.

creek that runs along the trail
rock formations along the trail
the trail itself
the missus all bundled up
now the best part of the hike is moonville tunnel, the tunnel itself is located in the middle of zaleski state forest, it is literally in the middle of nowhere.
now like i said, this tunnel is allegedly to be haunted. i live 15 minutes from the tunnel and i got a chance to talk to a local 20 some years ago who worked on the railroad, and he swears these stories are true, he was in his 80,s when i got a chance to talk with him.
this place is really cool to hike at night, when ever my friends come down from columbus to spend the night to go hunting or camping they always want to go to moonville tunnel at night.
its about a 1/3 mile hike off a gravel road to get to the tunnel, once it gets dark and you are in the in the middle of the tunnel you cant even see your hand 2 inches in front of your face. and also to add to the mystery of this place, there have been a sasquatch sightings in this area.

inside the tunnel
there is alot of very strange graffiti throughout the tunnel
icicle forming in the tunnel
the creek that runs along the tunnel
thanks for looking.
