My new old 1952 Winchester Model 94 in 30-30. It brings out the kid in all of us. Better pics will be up soon, in this and in the "Gun Pron" thread.

Some more of the '94, barrel shots, and stock shots, no close ups, but the stock, steel and bore is in very nice condition. Clean, and smooth, with good rifleing.

Did you get the 94 at full asking price or did you get to talk him down? I still say $480 is a great price for what you got.

I took it for $480, i didn't try to talk him down because i am inexperienced. However, he did keep his eyes on the Benjamins.

You did good, the gun was well worth the asking price and then some, I'd consider myself lucky to have found it in the first place, and the $80.00 or $100.00 bucks that you might have gotten it for less over the course of time that you'll enjoy the gun will end up being priceless.
You got a great deal, he walked away happy, what else could one ask for.

One thing to consider, I once tried to better an already sweet deal when I was young and green, I made an offer to a fellow that was so insulted that he told me that he was asking a fair price, I was was trying to steal it, he then told me that he wouldn't sell it to me for any price and walked away.
After thinking on it for awhile, I had to admit that he was right, and that he had just given me a free lesson in honesty, when ever I bargin for an item, I always try to put myself in the other guy's shoes, and I've never been sorry for it.

Enjoy your new rifle, there ain't much better all around rifle than a vintage Winchester lever gun.

Good looking guns Sweede. I miss my 1911 but a commander is on my wish list for next year.

Why'd you git rid of it? I like the Commander the most out of them all. The 100th has a real, real nice, soft trigger, and it's only had about 75 rds through it. The Commander has about 1000+ and it's the same. The Commander or a Wiley Kapp is on my wishlist when i turn 21.

baby needed stuff and we were poor, had to hock a few guns. Life goes on I am thinking a S&W 1911pd commander, partially because I like the gun for several reasons and because Jesse Stone carries one and well, never bought a gun cause I liked it in a movie plus I kind of like the external extractor.

Dang. I have been guilty of buying a gun that i liked, it was my Mauser. Turns out, i got a really good deal on it, after market high quality parts, and it's in good shape.

You'll like the S&W 1911, I've got two of them, the all steel classic in bright blue, and the Commander SS in the Scandiam frame, so far about 3,000 rounds out of the blued full sized one and about 1500 rounds out of the 1911 PD without a hickup, they eat anyting I put in the magazines including my handloads, jacketed or cast lead.

I think they are as accurate as my Gold Cup, and I haven't had a problem with the external extractor, a lot of 1911 shooters complained about that in the beginning, but then again S&W has been using them for fifty years on all their semi-auto's with zero problems.

Hard to beat a Smith and Wesson they plain and simple kick butt, I don't have a lot of guns but the ones I do have are kind of an investment. I'm willing to spend the cash on it but I want it to be worth it. I fired the full size 1911pd and loved it more than my kimber (shot low but only took 250 rounds to break it in). I got used to it but something about the smiths performance really impressed me. I think commander size is perfect ( for me anyways.)
