Most of this got done this Monday. My buddy "the Animal" finsihed sheeting up the T1-11 made up the barn doors and installed the office door along with framing up the 28' workbench.

Started with this.

In another day or two it will all be enclosed. Second faze will be the 200 amp service installed. Then a new floor needs to be poured, the previous owners busted the original floor out.

Build a fire pit into that new floor !

You can see a slight depression in the grass just in back of the workshop, that's where the fire pit will be. It'll have a 5 or 6 foot perimeter of pea gravel around a six foot pit.

Inside the work shop we are putting in a donated car lift and motorcycle lift, as well as the kiln and potters wheel.

Wow. That is going to be a nice shop. Congrats again on finding your new homeplace.

Forgive me hushnel, but what do you do? Or will be doing in the shop? Looks like a great man cave to me!

Well, that's a good question, for starters I build musical instruments both acoustic and electric, among the motorcycle and equestrian crowd I'm known for my leather work, I make knives and do a bit of blacksmithing, I'll be setting up my forge and anvil, I build furniture, I weave, spin, knit and felt, I will also be setting up my potters wheel and kiln. I do some glass work, engraving and cut glass, ships in to bottles and a little jewelry making. My buddies will be building and repairing motorcycles, the first project is a '45 panhead.

I have had this dream for many years, I disired to have a shop big enough to have all my tools and skills under one roof, a place were my friends can hang out and try their hand at building and making stuff, I hope to teach those that want to learn, in this way keeping some of the old skills alive.

A better question would be what doesn't he do. Hushnel really is a master of many, many things.
I'm really jealous Hush. You've got a nice space on a nice place right there. Gonna have to come check it out one of these days.

Looking good man. Can't wait to see it in person. How long are you going to be there this time? I'm still up in NC.

I was up this past weekend for four days. With the rendezvous in Jan. I'm not sure when I'll be up again, I know we are planning a birthday party some time around the middle of Feb.

You should come up when we are up there full time. From your avatar I think you'll enjoy the instruments I make.

We are just 13 miles out of Lake City.

We've been up here since Wed. Animal has done a bunch of work on the workshop. Tomorrow we will finish off the weather head and call for the 200 amp service.

A couple of new pictures

This is going to be one of the first projects, Catfish lost his leg in a motorcycle accident about 3 years ago. We found this old Harley golf cart framed yard trike, it has a cool independent suspension in the rear end, needs beefed up, the Honda engine is going on a go cart and a Sportster engine will be mounted in the rear. Kind of crazy but we got the team to pull it off.

Hey ya got the doors on! Great! You have some workin' hands up there. Catfish looks pretty stoked. Tell the guys Hi. Really enjoyed my visit and meeting them.
Hi Deb.
The farm is awesome.

Ran into a small snag today, we found out we needed a permit after all, drove down to White Oak and submitted the application, they could give us the permit for 60 amp service over the counter but for 200 amp service we needed approval, we had the permit in hand two hours later. It would have taken forever in Dade County.

Some more work this past week.
We cleared out all the stuff so Tim, our neighbor, could level the floor.
