Guide
I thought it would be interesting make a thread where you could put up pics and info on your EDC...At least in my head it was a good idea :33: So, I'll go first!
Okay, the hat(and watch and belt, naturally) technically doesn't count but I always have it on and neither does the phone...And I almost never have it on :44: Aside from that...
Leatherman. Obviously. The original model that I...permanently borrowed from my father :18: It's just too often used to not carry, plus it's kind of an emergency thing if a horse's shoe gets loose on the trail, or tangled in wire. So, it's handy plus a safety thing a lot of the time.
Mini Bic Lighter(gotta love that size, btw): Aside from survival reasons of fire, it functions as a light often, for thawing out locks, and a billion and three other things that you always need/use fire for. Matches are awesome for survival, but for carrying and using outside of creating an actual fire, a lighter of whatever sort is better. IMO.
BHK Bushcrafter: I'm not a huge fan of folding knives, no matter how strong they are, they're still weaker than a fixed blade and I've seen too many break to fully trust abusing them. And, I use and abuse my knives. Note it has a rangerband on the sheath. Just because it doesn't add any weight or take up any room. May come in handy for whatever.
Case Hooked Folder: Not sure of the exact model, could look it up, but my Father gave it to me. Like I said, I don't rather folders over fixed blades, but I admit they have their place. Especially with this one that the shape of the blade makes cutting around horses or OFF of horses much more safe since it lacks a tip and you can slide the spine along the horse and between the whatever it is that it may be tangled in, or is stuck on it, etc. It's not used a lot and is more of a safety measure so it of course is great to have when you need it.
Keys: Probably not a lot of uses for the keys themselves(any input here, guys?) but they're hooked to a carbiner, so...
And last but not least the bandana! As anyone who works outside or especially as a cowboy(I admit I try and shun that name simply because it sounds cheesy) they are a freaking lifesaver. I forget it about as much as I do my knife, which is to say, never. And yes, it goes around my neck 1) Pull up over face when COLD and windy, or just use it as a scarf around your neck anyhow 2) Pull up over face when working in the hay loft, or just when there is dust period 3) Bandage (and that happens a lot) 4) Training equipment (of course, not in most jobs that didn't involve horses...)....And I won't list all the bushcrafty/survival purposes it'd fulfill.
So there we have it! What do you carry, and does it have specific reasons outside of the obvious and/or the survival reasons?
