Alcohol stove thread (mods and in use)

You guys have affected me! Thanks!

I felt it today while walking around the neighbourhood on recycling day. I found these two pieces in neighbours bins. A cat food can and, I think, a piece that looks lile it might from an aluminum percolator.

I see an alcohol stove.

The two nest and seat nicely.

Just need a stand for a cup/pot.

To glue or not to glue the pieces into stove mode?? I should probably test it first. Added to my weekend To Do List.

It seems to fit into an old Coleman esbit-like folding stove. Wish me luck!

Worthy of a post in the wasteland thread

Maybe a small coin over the central hole

I made several of these, with the fire-retardant felt in the middle. It's light at .6 oz. While I appreciate that it requires no separate stand, I find it a bit dangerous in actual use and have had a couple minor mishaps. Mine put out tons of heat and boil water pretty quickly. I prefer the simplicity and safety of my Esbit set-up. My Fancy Feast 01.jpg

WHat diameter pot and how much liquid does it hold. Is it used for cooking or just heating water?
1.3 liter Ti Evernew pot with a foil lid. Not cooking, just bringing about 750ml to a boil, stirring something in, and then letting it sit a few minutes without flame under it.
