Would you be willing to share some more details about that sheath?Thank you. It was fun doing something different.
I say, the knife is nice, but the sheath... so ugly, brutal, and barbaric...it is freaking awesome.
Sure.Would you be willing to share some more details about that sheath?

Awesome and thanks very much! I'd like to make a rawhide sheath for a knife I put together, and this helps a lot.Sure.
My first frontier sheath I used a total leather sheath encased in rawhide. It looked great but I got feedback it was a bit heavy. The second one I used a leather back and rawhide front, which, I think, is a good compromise. And decided to do the same on this one. Also the first sheath was thick rawhide but the second two I used goat rawhide which is thinner and easier to work.
On this sheath I chose to used leather cord rather than sinew which would also look nice.
You have to soak the rawhide and flatten it to work it. I used the drill press and bandsaw on the rawhide. This is my first attempt at cross lacing and it’s still a learning curve.
Other than making a pattern and dealing with rawhide it’s pretty much straight forward. But I still have lots to learn.
I used bone, wooden bead and stag tip for the bling.
I think I may try a taco style rawhide sheath next go round.
