Dead Pine Knives -- ORDERS CLOSED

Grindin' hollers...

These are the last 3 blades out of the main 20! All I have to do is bring them up to 400, clean up the flats on the grinder, crown the spines on all 3 and round the ricasso on the one, and then hand sand the blades to remove scratches and verify flatness and consistency!

Then I'll have to fabricate and fit guards on 14 out of 20 of the knives, drill them for guard pins, then counter-sink everything, then all the knives will be ready for heat treat!

I'm also planning to do 2 extra knives, a special design for my friend @Wood Splitter and a dagger as an experiment, both of which will feature double-prong guards that slip on from the blade side, Loveless style!

This has been a lot of fun to watch, and very educational. Thanks for posting all this!

My greatest hope is that my thread will serve as an inspiration to someone who wants to make knives, but isn't sure where to start!

Start like I did, with nothing! :p

Unfortunately I didn't get as much done this evening as I wanted to. I believe I overestimated my capabilities, and, to be honest, my spirit has been a little dampened today since seeing a sad and defiled square-body F-150 condemned at the local junkyard.

But on a better note, I have 2 blades remaining to be hand sanded, then I'll crown the spines, round the ricasso on the one, and then it's time to taper some tangs!

I'm so close to being done it's almost painful.
