I want a revolver

The Taurus 66 is a clone of the S&W 66. Normally 6 shot.

Taurus quality has varied wildly across the decades, working in a large shop we returned them regularly some before they even got to the display. The last 5 yrs theyve gotten considerably better especially the Executive (better QC) line.

If you can eyeball it beforehand especially with someone who knows revolvers, assuming Juan and Carlos were sober that day, the Taurus 66 can serve you well.

In my travels, the Manurin was the nicest revolver I have ever shot. I shot it side by side with a Korth. The most fun was a S&W 500. It is on my list to get.
Good luck with your quest.

I bought an old Rossi M68 revolver for like $300 bucks. It’s .38 special 5 shot 4in barrel cut down to 3in by the importers. It’s a Brazilian clone of S&W made on S&W machinery. I never bothered to look up if they ever made .357 in the timeframe when there revolvers were considered ‘good’.

Some of those old Rossi revolvers were really underestimated. A family member had a 4” stainless 38 Special that was actually a really nice handgun. Even the sights and trigger were stainless steel. Looking back, I wish I had bought it from him when he sold it.

I had an 80s Python with a 6 inch barrel and traded it for a new 686+.

I know I took a loss but the 686 is much more comfortable to carry and shoot in my opinion, holds an extra round, and has a decent enough trigger.
