in praise of the windshirt

I've got four different wind shirts, none have hand pockets :) The only one that hand pockets that I owned was HPG's Windcheater, it was a hard warmer pocket (kangaroo) zipped on both ends- it had lots of bells/whistles- velcro cuffs, hand pockets, pit zips, the ability to add a coyote ruff, etc

You're not going to get many features with a shirt designed to be as light as possible like the Houdini, which appears to weigh 4 Ounces or so ? Beyond Clothing has some L4 windshirts and L5 wind/rain shirts with pockets, but they are not nearly as light. I really like my Modus Light L5 jacket so far, and some sizes are on sale right now.

Glad I had mine today - did ~6 miles that was mostly prairie - temps were 40s, but with a 30 mph north wind. Started out with just a sun hoodie, Houdini came out and took the chill out of the wind

Backcountry has BD Alpine Starts in prior year colors on sale. The orange one is $90 and with the extra 20% off sale they're running for, I got it for $72.

Figure I can wear it hiking during hunting season. Love my other one.
