Is the canteen cup a dying breed ?

Dying breed?

Mine seem to breed just fine:

I'm ashamed to say that there's a lot more where those came from. They just seem to multiply and breed on their own. If anything, I need to start culling 'em.
Oh snap, can you show us something made in the Russian canteen cookset?

Sure. Here I'm cooking salt water and turning it into NOT salty water.

Do you prefer the old L-shaped canteen cup handle of the butterfly handles?
I am late to the party, but I do love using canteen kits. In my experience, I find the L handle difficult to lock in place properly, especially in winter. I want to love it, especially when I want to wear mittens, but it fails a lot due to human error and dexterity when it's cold. Butterfly handles are less finicky with cold fingers .

I love the L handle but I agree with the wing handles are more convenient, I just use a multitool to pull out the L handle catch but one of these days I will damage it if I’m not careful.
