Stumbled upon this new bullet from Hornady. The .30cal 190gr version is awesome. I've killed a few deer with it.

I briefly considered making a bolt action AR-10 for it, chambered in 8.6 blackout with it's insane 1:3" twist rate.
But then I found this: which is more my style. 338 ARC pistol.

Which is perfect because I have the rifle version of this weapon, and the materials to make a 8" titanium silencer, so this is going to be legally converted into an integrally suppressed rifle. And if the barrel/ receiver fitment allows, I will have a multi caliber setup.
Everything is ordered. I haven't been this stoked on a new caliber in a long time.

Is anyone making 1:3 twist barrels aside from 8.6 blackout chamberings? They wouldn't be SAAMI spec, correct?
There are trade offs with this.

For most the cost of fodder. Because anything above about 300k is going to MANDATE hard & costly mono metal bullets.

Its said to be much improved in killing power and I don't doubt it. But there is always a cost.

Have you looked at 1:5? This is about max for cup and core and IS OFFERED from a number of barrel Makers.

Besides 1:8 shoots just fine..
