Hello fellow woodsmen, I'm looking for recommendations on a travel pouch for my pipe, tobacco, and associated accessories for it. Something like a small packing cube with some padding and a pocket. The kicker is that the removable stem on my pipe is 12" long, so I need something that'll fit this and not be overly bulky. Canvas, cordura, whatever is fine. I've come across stuff like these:

Not really sure which one to choose from or if there is another option I don't know about. Anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe reach out to one of the vendors here?
@Callawegian STITCHERY
Perhaps you can order a custom fit, and built to your specs?
My grandfather smoked a pipe, and I sure miss the smell of the tobacco when he opened a new tin.

How about this?

This looks really good... for a pipe and such, but maybe also for other. Just ordered one. Will try with pipe and tobacco first. Thanks!

If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby, they have a wide assortment of pouches. I picked up the one below in the photo for a dollar or two. It is made out of some type of medium weight canvas. I have hauled it around in the Jeep for over a year on my travels. So far it has help up very well.

Not my picture, but I use the dickens out of a whitluck pipe roll. It should be enough to hold a broken down churchwarden/stem, but its not in front of me to measure.

Cheap, well made, carries two pipes/associated extras. I dont even use the zipper pouch, theres another pocket under that where I squirrel small sampler ziplocs of 'baccy to share.

Its thick and super stiff at first, but over time it wears in and takes a beautiful patina.

Everyone I know who smokes asks about it, and I am very satisfied with it.

OR get a smaller pipe.

Love my nose warmers. This Yello-bole pug is one of my favorite pipes and my favorite hunting/fishing/woods loafing pipe. Add a Bic and a pipe nail it will all slips right into a shirt pocket taking up almost no room. Then all you need is a tobacco pouch. Missouri Meerschaum has some nose warmers that are nice for not much $.

Wow these are some great suggestions!

@Yellow Lab Oh very cool tube idea! I will have to get those, maybe not for my pipe, but I know other items it would be good for.

@Buck Fynn I do have one close by. I'll have to go get some of those just for the sake of having bags like those in my gear box, especially at that price!

@Empty Quiver I'm going to buy one of those just as a gag gift!

@WanderingCaveman That is one nice pouch and set! I really want that just because it's so nice.

@bluecow Always thinking outside the box eh? That's definitely a way of solving this issue. I'll probably end up getting a smaller pipe one day, but not anytime soon. I love my churchwarden. Was a Christmas gift from my kids and named it Gandalf. Anyway this will be the first time I have taken it anywhere that I know it needs to be in a protected container, hence my question. Thanks for the idea and recommendation though, I'll check out MM.

So I went with @WanderingCaveman's suggestion and purchased the Whitluck pipe pouch set. This is gorgeous. The promotion photos for it do not do it justice. Plus all of the accessories that come with it make an great deal. I really look forward to using the smaller pipe compared to my churchwarden as I am traveling next week.

I also purchased this as a sort of a throwaway pouch for the churchwarden just in case I did not like the Whitluck set. I got a brighter color so I would be able to see it in my ruck and during night time.

My pipes tend to stay at home. I have a pack of smoke when I'm out and about. That said, I hadn't even thought about transporting them and how I'd do it.
A ziplock is where I'd start. Unless your pipe is new, it has all sorts of nasty you don't want spreading to whatever pack/container you intend to use. Sure, we all clean our pipes, but usually when they start to get difficult to draw from. They're never spotless and don't stink.
Cheers Jim

I have this same pouch and like it a lot.

I've done a couple of those with walnut hull dye and beeswax afterwards. What dye did you use on this one?

I use one for a sewing/repair kit, one for daily vitamins and supplements that I keep in the truck and another as a F&S kit bag.

I didn't dye the pouch. It was an off white / tan when I bought it. Over time it has naturally become slightly darker.
