Well, I just heard the bad news, Shug has leukemia.

His daughter setup a GoFundMe here - https://gofund.me/e26f73d79

If you're able to, and if youve ever gotten anything out of his videos please consider donating.

I just saw his video pop up. I knew someone would share the news. Been a follower for 16 years. Found him on Hammock forums.

One of the people who walked the walk. A real man and inspiration. Life isn't fair when someone so close to nature and being out there in way below Zero temps camping, Often alone, Gets dealt this.

Sweet as Sugar...

Prayers!

Donated. It seems so long ago since I started watching him. A great source of information when I started hanging, as well as gear use and helping me pare down my kit back in the day. His humor is also great. I wish him well.

I don’t even know what to say. I have been dealing with health and growing old issues for a while myself. Of course I went through the cancer thing loosing my wife in 2018. This has stirred some emotions I don’t want to go back to. I think I will head to Bush Camp and say some prayers for Shug.

Shug and I have been friends for a long time. We will always be friends, here on earth and in the eternities.
Current technology cured my son of cancer this year.it worked for my son, it will work for Shug.
He will be in my prayers daily.

.

Saw Shug's video right after he posted it.

They have some pretty effective treatments for leukemia as of the last few years.

I'm sitting in the oncology room as we speak with a IV in my arm ....

Very sorry brother, prayers for you as well.

One of the things that made me love Shug was the honest talk about the circus. His younger day's, and the people that were around him. Dude's always been awesome and strong.

Agreed, loved to hear him talk about the circus days .... he is very talented as well as being a natural comedian ... been watching him for prolly 10 years ....

WhoooBuddy !!

There is also some good financial assistance available through specialty pharmacies on some of this medication. His Doc/hospital should be able to get him hooked with them.

I was on some pills for almost 2 years to bring down my white count ...my WBC was about 700K instead of <10. The copay was $2K a month and the pharma picked that up. I've been blessed in that this has cost me almost nothing out of pocket and my insurance plan is far from high end.

Thanks for the heads up @SideshowRaheem . So sad. I reached out to his family. I am praying that he gets another chance. Like on this site, there are great people we only know through their posts or videos, but you get an idea of who they are or what their character is. He always seems like a good soul. Hate to see anyone suffer, but especially the good people.
