Today I made. _____________??????

I am not sure who's idea this was but I got it from @Tom B .
I used a cut off from a axe handle, metal 1/4 teaspoon, Paracord & jig saw blade.
My thought was the cord & low friction divet was the hardest part about making a bow drill set in the field. I know many do just fine with all natural material but this should save time.

The jig saw blade was kinda just because I had room & wanted to.

Used it to cut the bow. It's no SAK saw. LOL

I failed to get a coal I think the wood was a little wet from being on the ground. But the divet worked well

I might add a fero rod , the jig saw blade would be a good striker.
Awesomely clever!!

What is this beautiful abomination?

did not make this but it is a mod i been working on. ontario camp plus hatchet, full tang little over 3/16 thick. the edges were all rough and the handle scales square and blockish. contoured them and cleaned up most of the edges still some work left to do on it. re shaped the head from the square to something a little different. i had been looking at an ancient smithy axe on amazon, but i saw some not great reviews on it and this was decently priced, 80.00 so i thought it will make a good project.

Tracker round 2... just enough leftover 8670 to squeeze in a stretched pattern. Now to see if I can finish this one in under 6 months.
