There's a bike/multiuse trail that goes between Wabash and Lagro, IN, that I ride when I can't get to the mountain bike trails. There is private property on either side, and, last year after the leaves fell, I found this:

This was on some of the private property and I don't trespass, so I zoomed in with my phone while standing on the trail. It'd be interesting to know what was in there.

Founds bags of this on the creek shore line. Tubular foam wrapped in mesh. Pipe insulation? Any ideas?

Might have been some sort of erosion control device, sort of looks like it to me at least.

Yep that’s the kind that floats on top of the water that you see where there doing road work to prevent things floating down the creek or waterway, the kind they use along roads is often filled with straw or wood shavings

They come in several diameters and materials/colors there’s also some that are used to prevent the spread of weeds

I found a pristine white pillow of the type you get on airlines stuck up in a tree along the Escalante River in southern Utah, several miles upstream from the highway 12 bridge. Nothing stays that clean for long in the desert. I really think it actually fell out of an airplane. The best part is that I had a pillow to use for the remainder of a survival course.

Today. Baby head. Also found a bottle with a clear injection liquid in it. Had tge syringe top. Been there a while too. View attachment 2281215

Witchcraft????

Located in the canals of Xochimilco south of Mexico City, the Island of the Dolls (Isla de las Muñecas) is a chinampa island famous for hosting the world’s largest collection of haunted dolls, a title officially recognized by Guinness World Records in 2022.

The site is defined by hundreds to thousands of decaying, broken, and decapitated dolls hanging from trees, fences, and huts, a collection assembled by the reclusive former owner, Don Julián Santana Barrera. Barrera reportedly began this macabre project in the mid-20th century after finding a doll drifting in the canal following the alleged drowning of a young girl, believing the dolls were necessary to appease her restless spirit and ward off evil.

Key details about the island include:

  • Location: A small island in the Laguna de Tequila within the Xochimilco canal system, accessible only by trajinera boats.
  • The Legend: Don Julián lived on the island alone for decades, collecting discarded dolls to honor the drowned girl; he died in 2001 in the same canal where the girl was said to have drowned.
  • Current Status: Since Barrera's death, his family has opened the island to the public as a dark tourism attraction, featuring a small museum and huts, though some boat operators still refuse to visit due to superstition.
