What do you keep in your rig?

Right now my car has the following in the trunk:

Hatchet
Umbrella
Snow scraper

IFAK w/ tourniquet
Spare water
Ration bars (need to swap these out for new ones)
Jump pack/jumper cables
Spare sneakers and change of clothes
Fleece blanket
Small tools- wrench, screwdriver, etc
Fire starter brick
Ferro rod
Flashlight
Small cook kit w/can of sterno
“Inconvenience Kit”, with things like chapstick, hand sanitizer, spare cash, phone charge cables, small sewing kit and safety pins, etc.

I keep enough stuff to keep me warm, dry, hydrated and fed for 72 hours (or both of us for 36). That includes an axe, bowsaw, belt knife, rope/cord and enough tarpage to set up a halfway decent camp.

Other than water/food, the only thing that gets changed out is the sleeping bag(s).

Much of it is in the cargo area, bungied to the back of the back seat. My tools, edged implements and rope/cord are in the spare tire well. My grab-and-go backpack is in the floor behind the driver's seat, resting on a wool blanket that's securely wrapped in plastic.

I frequently run short in-town errands -- supermarket, pharmacy, post office, etc -- so, in the coldest part of winter, I keep a heavy hooded jacket, gloves in pockets, in the back seat "just in case."
