Wilderness “survival” knife thread #5284

I know this has been discussed a thousand times. I know the definition of “survival” is probably different for just about everybody. Even so, it’s interesting to see what people come up with for thier own unique locations and preferences.

What ONE bladed tool (axe, machete, samurai sword, neck knife?) would be most useful to YOU in your local AO assuming no zombies or marauders were present? Two or three weeks and you get teleported back to reality.

The kiddo’s, 10 and 12 are set on going on a “survival” camping trip soon. That’s what inspired the question. A short, light machete seems to be the ideal for our location.

My Seedy BFS. 7 3/4” blade in Cd1. Amazing heat treat and handle. Very comfortable in hand for long period use.

New sheath I had Shawn make. Companion knife, Dude in ProCut. Ferro rod, Silva mini compass and survival tin.

One tool that does all for me is a Gossman Kubo II!

If I was going to go big add go with @Fixedblade and add another vote for the Kubo II. For me though I'd have to go with my DSP Bushtool, I use a small blade more and can make whatever i may need to accomplish that a larger blade could do.
