Bark River Done?

XRF results posted at the end of video on knives labeled Magnacut.

The comment that stuck out to me is that crucibles business was affected - used the name but not the steel. Imagine.

Great the Magnacut is fake too. DLT should get a scanner and test all their BRK knives, not just one of each model. Maybe test some random other brands too. I wonder how common this scam is in the wider industry.
Interesting thing that they had started brk crazy sales right before the scandal. And they say they didn`t know anything about this situation in brk. Сoincidence...

Bark River didn't capitalize it correctly and added a hyphen, which one might expect with a lack of Q.C., perhaps from China.

MagnaCut vs. MAGNA - CUT

Larrin replied on BFC about that video:

"He said in the video that XRF is for soils not for metals, the composition doesn’t look like any steel available. The composition doesn’t make sense . He even had another MagnaCut knife and didn’t test it as a comparison to see that it didn’t test correctly either. Then he fed the nonsensical data into AI and read it to people. If that knife isn’t MagnaCut the video doesn’t prove it."

Either way, I am interested in seeing the XRF results from Niagra Specialty Metals. I wonder if DLT will send more than one now that others are using XRF to check the knives and having concerns? It really sucks that lots of people have lost faith in products and questioning everything now related to BRK and wondering how far back this goes.

I didn't know there are different XRF's for things like soils versus metals and stuff, so that is new info.

This^^^

Not taking Bark River's side or anyway trying to justify the dishonest misrepresentation of steels they used.

But with a background in metallurgy, the testing the guy did in the video is pure bull crap.

I am curious as well. It will be interesting to see their results.

Major dealers like DLT and KSF should acquire the proper XRF analyzer and test each knife as part of pre-shipment inspection. They have thousands of BRKs in stock. Sending maybe 1% for testing means nothing. Its a feel-good CYA move. Every knife made in the last 20 years is suspect.
