Not at all, haha. It is fun to have the larger one that just fits so well in tue hand though.
What if any glue did you use to glue the file in the antler? You inspired me to head to the garage this morning too!

What if any glue did you use to glue the file in the antler?
Thank you I am going to make oneI was prepared to use epoxy, but it seems to be holding tight with a pressure fit. I kept gradually increasing the width of the slot until the file almost reached the bottom and then tapped it in with a hammer.
Jeff
Thank you I am going to make one
Interesting perspective all the same. Good job on the flames. Here’s a little snake from @Red Yeti. I had a bit of a blair witch moment when I tried to video this for some good stills. Didn’t catch my hands or the steel and chert. Worked well with the humidity of 84%.

I need to make some more of those! Thanks for the compliment!!Well, it's not Friday, but today I used a firesteel from Bartoncreek and a tinder bundle of old man's beard to rekindle my fire. Paul makes a sparky steel!

Simply Outstanding!!!!! You are now one of three people that I know of that have done this. Finally got it done! Saw @Not Sure do this and I got it on my third attempt. Making char cloth, and used a piece from a batch I made this morning. I also used a new piece of flint and that obviously helped.

@Edgewalker , myself and you are now in the very small Cold Steel Rock and Shovel Club.
You will never be the same!!
...and what do you use the Stanley blade for?The more I use a Stanley blade, the more confidence to always have one in my PSK.

That’s my striker!...and what do you use the Stanley blade for?
And do you strike the flint with the cutting edge while holding the char on the flint? That’s my striker!
I used an old dull blade and hold the blade vertically and strike down with my flint on the “cutting edge.” Shewing sparks down into a tin of charred punk wood this time. And do you strike the flint with the cutting edge while holding the char on the flint?
